Boise State Ties NCAA Record for Fastest School in College Football History To Win 400 Games as a Four-Year School.

In 2005, Boise State became the fastest four-year school in the modern era to win 300 football games.  Now just nine years later, we're already talking about another milestone.  With Boise State's win over Louisiana-Lafayette last night, the Broncos tied Pennsylvania for the fastest school to win 400 games.

To even the playing field for each school, "the clock" starts in the first year in which the school played a minimum of eight games.  If the school did not field a team during World War I or World War II, those years were not counted, but if the school did not play football any other year by their own choice, that year did count in the race to 400 wins.

Home games are exactly that:  games played on the school's "home field".  Games at neutral sites or other cities in the same state are not a school's home field, and are not counted as such.

This study researched all of the leaders beginning in 1869, and includes all current FBS teams.

John Molchon Commits to Boise State

A brand new commit to report.  John Molchon, senior offensive lineman at Faith Lutheran High School, has given the word to Boise State.

Mochon is not only a 6-5, 265-pound tackle who attended the elite camp at Boise State.  He has a great attitude, and is already talking Bronco language.  You will be impressed with Mr. Molchon.  Here is just a glimpse into John Molchon:

He doesn't go on Twitter or talk to the recruiting services to brag about his skills or is offers.  He isn't into self-promotion.

“I don’t like to tell a lot of people,” said Molchon, who also has offers from the University of Buffalo, Colorado State, Kent State, UNLV, UNR and Montana State.
“It’s very humbling. I want to get (the news) out the right way. I like to keep it personal between me, my coaches, family and close friends,” he said.

Ajayi Wins Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week Award

Jay Ajayi has moved himself into position to perhaps break one of the oldest records in the Boise State book, that of career rushing.  Cedric Minter has held on to that one since 1980.

Ajayi had himself quite a game against Colorado State, churning out 280 all-purpose yards, including 219 on the ground, and today, the Bronco junior was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week.

Miller Passes Hutt, Ikebe on All-Time Receiving Yards List

With his monster game last night, Matt Miller passed Bronco legends Don Hutt and Ryan Ikebe to move into third place all-time in career receiving yards.

Miller snared eight passes for 151 yards and a touchdown to bring his career receiving yards total to 2,823, passing Ikebe (2,751) and Hutt (2,728).  That says a mouthful right there, and long-time Bronco fans will realize the magnitude of the accomplishment.

Miller is now just 15 yards shy of Austin Pettis (2,838) for second with Titus Young the school record holder at 3,063.

Matt Miller Breaks Career Receptions Record at Boise State

Senior Matt Miller broke the all-time receptions record at Boise State last night, and he did it on a long bomb from quarterback Grant Hedrick.

Miller, who came into the season 12 receptions shy of the mark set by Austin Pettis, had six receptions in the season opener vs. Mississippi, and with his seventh last night (Miller finished with eight), the dependable marvel etched his name in the Bronco record book.

Congrats Matt, on a super game and stellar career, and we hope your senior year is memorable!

Broncos Beat Colorado State 37-24

Congrats to Coach Harsin--first win of many for Boise State!

Broncos Still Trying to Find Their Footing

The holdovers from Coach Petersen are still struggling to find themselves an identity, after collapsing in the fourth quarter once again last week.  They'll face a run-happy Colorado State team which downed rival Colorado.

Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. tonight in Bronco Stadium.  Because of new security procedures necessitated by a new law enacted by the Idaho State Legislature, there will be delays getting in so get to the gate early.
