Boise State Gets Another Commitment

Kyler Manu, an All-State linebacker from Highland High School in Pocatello has followed Brett Rypien in committing to Boise State on Junior Day.

Manu recorded 92 tackles last season and was District Player of the Year in helping the Rams reach the 5A Championship game.

Kyler chose the Broncos over interest from BYU, Idaho, Utah State, Washington and Wisconsin.

And the Class of 2015 gets more amazing by the day.

Brett Rypien Commits to Boise State

The energetic Boise State football staff continue to amaze the football world with the level of talent they are bringing to Boise.

Blue Football Through and Through has learned that Brett Rypien, ranked as high as the #9 high school quarterback in the nation, has pledged to play football for the Broncos.

Rypien's uncle Mark, of course, played for Washington State and went on to become a Super Bowl Most Valuable Player for the Washington Redskins, but it is Brett that the Broncos are excited about.

Rypien, who carries a 4.0 GPA, is exactly the student the school has been getting through out its student body.  He has rewritten the Greater Spokane League record book, as he has the top two passing seasons (3,266 yards last year and 3,129 the year before), and already is the top passer in league history 7,135 yards) with one season to go.

Rypien (6-2,185 from Shadle Park High School) passed for 613 yards in a single game last year, and also tops the league in all-time single-season total offense, all-time career offense and all-time TD passes with 46.

Rypien chose Boise State over offers from Washington, Washington State, Mississippi State, Oregon State, Colorado State, and Idao, and interest from Florida and Stanford.

April 1 Players of the Day

Freshman D.J. Dean has come out of the gate looking great and won Boise State Offensive Player of the Day yesterday.  Defensive end Beau Martin won the honor on defense, with Senior linebacker Blake Renaud winning the Hammer Award.  Matt Miller is having an excellent camp and won the Playmaker Award while cornerback Jonathon Moxey is making noise as the Ballhawk Award winner.

The Bronco linebackers were named the Group of the Day by head coach Bryan Harsin, the second time the LB's have won the award this spring.

The new-look Broncos will be on display Saturday, April 12th at 5 for the annual Blue-Orange Spring Game.
