Sean Modster from Mission Viejo locked in with Boise State, likely stealing the last wide receiver spot in the 2014 Bronco recruiting class. Others who wanted to go to Boise State but were beaten to the punch will now have to go elsewhere. Which s how Coach Chris Petersen and his staff wants it: they only want players that are 100% committed to the Bronco Way--hard work, passion, commitment, and class, both on and off the field.
Like Shay Fields, who committed earlier in the day, Modster (5-11, 185) excels at yards after the catch. He earned Second Team All-Orange County as a junior, snaring 45 passes for 935 yards (20.8). But the Bronco coaches really love this startling statistic--Modster scored better than once every four times he touched the ball (12 touchdowns).
Boise State won the recruiting battle over UCLA, but then that's an easy call. The city of Boise has consistently been rated as one of the Best Places To Live and one of the Best Places To Raise A Family; Los Angeles has not. California, Colorado and Oregon were also interested in Modster, but Boise State is the place where he is going.
