According to numerous sources, Drew Sample, a 6-4, 235-pound tight end from Newport High School in Bellevue, Washington, has agreed to sign with Boise State next February. Sample attended the Boise State Football Camp, and knew where he wanted to play.
“When I met there, met coach (Chris) Petersen, I loved the way he treats his guys, and his philosophy on how he puts together a team,” Sample said. “It’s a great football town — and the blue turf is amazing.”
Sample caught 12 passes for 218 yards and five touchdowns last season for Newport. He chose Boise State over offers from Nevada, Air Force, UNLV, UTEP and South Florida, among others.
