SWR Adds Another Preseason Watch List Honor

BOISE, Idaho--Senior wide receiver Shane Williams-Rhodes was named today to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Watch List, the Tyler Convention and Visitors Bureau announced.

This is the fourth preseason watch list for SWR, who was also named as a candidate for the Paul Hornung Award, the Wuerffel Trophy and the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is given annually to the top offensive player in the Football Bowl Subdivision who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell:  integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity.  Nominees also must have been born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college.  Williams-Rhodes played at Klein College High School in Spring, Texas.

Last year, Boise State running back Jay Ajayi was one of five finalists for the award.

Williams-Rhodes led Boise State in receptions (68) and touchdown catches (seven) last season, and also averaged 8.5 yards in punt returns.  SWR is ranked fifth all-time in career receptions with 170, needing 74 catches to tie Matt Miller's school record of 244.
