TCU Has Always Stood in the Way

TCU, the school which in 2005 got the invite to the Mountain West Conference instead of Boise State.  Had Boise State been invited at that time, the conference likely would have received AQ status and not fallen apart.  But it was TCU that got the invitation, by some sources a day and a half before Boise State would have been formally invited.

The Rose Bowl--something that Boise State has dreamed about playing in the moment it became possible.  Last year, while Boise State stumbled against Nevada on the final Saturday of the season, it was not the Broncos but TCU that got to play in the cherished bowl game.  And they took full advantage too, putting a serious whipping on Wisconsin.

The Big 12 Conference--A conference Boise State badly wanted to get in. Once again, it was not Boise State but TCU that got the invitation.

Yep, when the teams line up Saturday, that opponent across from the Boise State players will be a TCU Horned Frog, playing for the team that has consistently stood in the way between Boise State and its dreams.  Only this time, the winner won't be chosen by a conference or a bowl committee but by the team which performs best on the field.
