Many preseason college football magazines are picking Boise State to drop off this season, but still win the Mountain West. And, in a vote of the media, the Broncos came out on top to win the conference in their final year, something they didn't get done last season.
Boise State received 27 first-place votes to 2 for Fresno State and one for San Diego State. Nevada didn't get a first-place vote, but finished second overall. Many believe Wyoming, which finished fourth in the media poll, will also be a factor.
The complete media poll can be found below:
Five Broncos were selected to the All-Mountain West preseason team: offensive lineman Joe Kellogg, wide receiver Matt Miller, defensive tackle Mike Atkinson, cornerback Jamar Taylor and punt returner Mitch Burroughs, who was chosen as the Preseason Special Teams Player of the Year.
The Broncos open the season August 31 at Big Ten power Michigan State.
