What I Gathered from Boise State's Day at the MWC Convention

The players, Jamar Taylor and Joe Kellogg, who have been there for every player-run practice this summer, were humble as we have come to know Chris Petersen's Bronco players.  But they also revealed a confidence in their teammates in response to several questions about what to expect from newcomers in the lineup.

Both Kellogg and Taylor repeatedly said that the 22 seniors have been there before and have plenty of experience, even if the preseason magazines don't consider them "starters".  You get the feeling that the practices are going well and that there is a strong bond among the players this fall.

Pete continually challenged his team, especially in response to a question regarding Boise State being chosen first in the preseason conference poll and was that a sign of respect considering how many seniors left last year.  Coach Pete said that "...respect is earned, not given, and when you come up #1 in preseason polls it's given."  In his words, Boise State has not earned anything yet.  The Broncos were chosen first last year and didn't get it done, and he said his team wants to earn the respect game by game.
