Hard-hitting senior safety Jeremy Ioane of Boise State has been named to the preseason watch list for the inaugural Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award.
Ioane was earlier named to the watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to the nation's top defensive back. He started 12 games last season and posted 59 tackles, fifth most on the team.
Boise State is proud of its long history of Polynesian players, dating back to the Tony Knap years of the 60's and early 70's.
Five finalists for the Polynesian Award will be selected on November 20, and the winner will be announced December 9.
Good luck Jeremy!
