Boise State has a shot at a major NCAA Modern Record:
The Broncos entered the season with a 95-5 home record from the Weber State game of 1998 through 2013. Boise State ended the 1998 season with a home loss, and the Fresno State game next Saturday will be the 100th game since that loss. If the Broncos are fortunate enough to defeat Fresno State next Saturday, the loss in 1998 will be eliminated from the last 100 games, and Boise State would be 96-4 in those last 100 games rather than 95-5. A loss to the Bulldogs, of course, would keep the 100-game record at 95-5.
The outcome of the game is signficant in that if Boise State is fortunate enough to win, that 96-4 home record would tie the NCAA Modern Record set by the legendary Nebraska Cornhuskers, which rolled to a 96-4 record from the Kansas State game of 1987 through the Missouri game of 2002. There are only three schools and four better 100-game home records in the history of football:
1. Princeton 99-0-1 (1869-1897)
2. Michigan 97-1-2 (Northwestern game of 1893-Kentucky game of 1908)
3. Yale 96-1-3 (1877-Chicago A.C. game of 1898)
4. Yale 96-2-2 (Amherst game of 1900-Brown game of 1911)
