Boise State Ties Modern College Football Record

With Boise State's victory over Washington this afternoon, the Broncos finished the season 11-2.  That puts Boise State in elite company.  The Broncos have tied the modern record previously held by Nebraska (1993-1997), Florida State (1996-2000) and Oklahoma (2000-2004) with five consecutive 11-win seasons.  If Boise State is fortunate enough to win 11 games next season, they would break another modern record.

Only two other schools in college football history have ever accomplished this.  The great Yale teams of 1888-1892 won 11 or more games in each season, while Pennsylvania set the all-time mark that may never be broken.  Penn won 11 or more games from 1890-1900, an amazing streak of 11 straight seasons.
