Boise State receiver Tyler Shoemaker has been nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the top collegiate football player that began his career as a walk-on.
Shoemaker has 11 touchdown catches, tied for fourth in school history, with 38 receptions for 670 yards through nine games.
The Trophy, which was handed out for the first time last year, is named in honor of Arkansas walk-on Brandon Burlsworth. Burlsworth became a three-year starter who earned All-America honors in 1998. He was drafted #63 overall in the 1999 National Football League Draft, before being killed in a car accident just 11 days later.
