This Week in the BCS Top 25

Week #5 of the season features most Top 25 teams on the road.  Several others don't play:


1.    Alabama bounced Mississippi 33-14
2.    Oregon broke open a close game to defeat Washington State 51-26.
3.    LSU held off Towson 38-22.
4.    Florida State downed South Florida of the Big East 30-14.
5.    Georgia held off Tennessee 51-47.
6.    South Carolina broke open a close game with a 38-17 win over Kentucky.
7.    Stanford was upset by Washington 17-13.
8.    Kansas State is off this week.
9.    Notre Dame does not play.
10.  Florida takes the week off.
11.  USC does not play.
12.  West Virginia of the Big East outpointed #21 Baylor 70-63.
13.  Texas outpaced Oklahoma State 41-36 in a wild one.
14.  Oklahoma does not play.
15.  TCU outlasted SMU 24-16.
16.  Michigan State lost to Ohio State 17-16.
17.  Clemson got by Boston College 45-31.
18.  Oregon State came from behind to beat Arizona 38-35.
19.  Louisville held on to beat Boise State opponent Southern Mississippi 21-17.
20.  Boise State held off New Mexico 32-29.
21.  Baylor gave up 70 points to #12 West Virginia in a 70-63 loss.
22.  Mississippi State does not play.
23.  Rutgers does not play.
24.  Wisconsin lost a see-saw game with #25 Nebraska 30-27.
25.  Nebraska edged #24 Wisconsin 30-27.




Hawai'i lost to BYU 47-0.
Colorado State lost to Air Force 42-21.
Nevada defeated Texas State 34-21.
UNLV was defeated by Utah State 35-13.
San Diego State lost to Fresno State 52-40
