Report: Nick Patti Will Leave Boise State

Nick Patti, an Elite 11 quarterback in high school who was unable to crack the starting lineup at Boise State, will leave the school, according to a television reporter in Florida, Patti's home state.

Patti, a running quarterback brought in to run former Coach Chris Petersen's new "Pistol" offense, would have had to learn the new exciting offense that Coach Bryan Harsin has planned, which is essentially a return to Boise State's best years.

Patti was the 8A Florida Player of the Year after his senior year at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando.  He was the Offensive Scout Player of the Year in his redshirt season of 2012, and was 8-11 for 63 yards this season.

The news means Boise State will have senior quarterback Grant Hedrick, sophomore Ryan Finley and freshman walk-on Richard Hoppe on the roster and will likely need at least two quarterbacks in the upcoming 2014 recruiting class.  There are several rumors of possible recruits at that position, but nothing official.  We will announce that news as soon as we know!
