Ryan Wolpin (5-8, 195) has accepted an opportunity to walk on at Boise State, according to several sources. The Santa Margarita (California) power running back accepted a scholarship to Northern Colorado, but with the buzz around Boise State's new coaching staff, Wolpin has decided he'll play for Coach Bryan Harsin. If you like Charles Bertoli, you'll love this guy!
Wolpin was an All-Conference selection in both his junior and senior seasons in one of the toughest high school conferences in the nation, the Trinity League. Playing against teams such as JSerra, Servite, Mater Dei, Orange Lutheran and St. John Bosco, Wolpin accumulated 1,629 yards and 31 touchdowns as a junior, helping Santa Margarita win the CIF and State championship. In 2012, Wolpin rushed for 1,368 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Both Harsin and offensive coordinator Mike Sanford have said they want to emphasize a power running game. Wolpin epitomizes that.
