Here is a breakdown of the games this weekend and how their results affect the BCS Standings:
New Mexico hosts Air Force (Both are league opponents of course, but New Mexico has a tie-in to Texas Tech, an opponent of Nevada. This is the one advantage for New Mexico but it is minimal.)
Colorado State is at UNLV (CSU has a tie to Colorado, which by extension, helps Pac-12 teams Stanford and Oregon. UNLV's OOC opponents are no longer a threat, so a UNLV win helps more, as much of a longshot as that is. Kind of ridiculous to root against CSU here, but that is the game that the BCS plays and that is what gives the "BCS" teams the higher SOS over Boise State.)
BYU plays at TCU (of course TCU is a MWC team so the Horned Frogs would help Boise State if they win.)
Nevada is at New Mexico State (Nevada most helps Boise State.)
Georgia plays Florida (Go Dawgs!)
Tulsa faces a tough game vs. SMU. (Tulsa helps Boise State, but also helps Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.)
Baylor at Oklahoma State (Baylor was an opponent of TCU and Oklahoma State is ranked high so a Bear win helps Boise State.)
Virginia at Miami of Florida (Neither team plays Clemson, so that isn't a factor. Miami, however, played Kansas State while Virginia played Idaho, which, through Nevada and Fresno State, has ties to Boise State. Thus, a Virginia win would most help Boise State.)
Bowling Green is at Kent State (Bowling Green is an opponent of Wyoming, and Kent State is an opponent of Alabama, so Bowling Green would most help Boise State.)
Michigan hosts Purdue (Michigan played San Diego State so a Wolverine win is needed here.)
UTEP hosts Southern Mississippi (UTEP is an opponent of Colorado State, so that is the team that would help Boise State.)
Oregon at Washington State (WSU played San Diego State and UNLV so a win by Washington State helps Boise State's SOS the most.)
Hawai'i at Idaho (Hawai'i played UNLV and also Colorado and Washington. Idaho played Virginia, which helps Clemson by extension and Texas A&M, which helps the Big 12 schools. Boise State would gain vs. other top BCS teams no matter what happens, but a Hawai'i win most helps Boise State. Not only do you have the tie-in with the MWC, but only two top schools (Oregon and Stanford) benefit as opposed to four if Idaho wins.
Navy plays at Notre Dame (Navy was an opponent of Air Force, and Stanford is an opponent of Notre Dame, so a Navy win benefits Boise State.)
Auburn hosts Mississippi (Auburn played Clemson so a win by Mississippi helps Boise State the most in its quest to move up the BCS Standings.)
Texas Tech hosts Iowa State (Texas Tech was an opponent of Nevada and New Mexico, so would help Boise State's SOS.)
Syracuse vs. Louisville (Syracuse was an opponent of Toledo, so a 'Cuse win helps.)
Tennessee State plays at Eastern Kentucky (Tenn. St. played Air Force and thus benefits Boise State.)
South Dakota is at Cal Poly (South Dakota played Air Force and a win helps Boise State.)
Weber State is at Montana (Weber played Wyoming so the Wildcats can most help Boise State.)
Texas State-San Marcos hosts Northwestern State (San Marcos was an opponent of Wyoming and most helps Boise State.)
Sam Houston hosts Lamar (Sam Houston played New Mexico and its fate is tied to Boise State.)
Portland State is at Eastern Washington (Portland State played TCU so they can most help Boise State.)
Northern Colorado hosts North Dakota. (N. Colorado played Colorado State and an improbable victory helps Boise State.)
Wisconsin plays at Ohio State (Wisconsin played UNLV so a Badger win helps Boise State's SOS)
Penn State hosts Illinois (Penn State played Alabama, so an Illinois win would help Boise State more in the computer ratings relative to Alabama and LSU by extension.)
Florida State hosts North Carolina State (Florida State is an opponent of Oklahoma, so a win by NC State helps the most.)
Duke hosts Virginia Tech (Duke is an opponent of Alabama, so a VT win helps Boise State in the computer ratings.)
Ball State plays at Western Michigan (Ball State was an opponent of Oklahoma, so a win by the Broncos helps Boise State.)
Western Kentucky plays at Louisiana-Monroe. (Western Kentucky is an opponent of LSU and Monroe was an opponent of TCU so a win by Monroe would help Boise State and this is a pretty important game.)
Louisiana-Lafayette plays at Middle Tennessee (Lafayette was an opponent of Oklahoma State so a win by Middle Tennesse would help the most.)
San Jose State plays at Louisiana Tech (San Jose State is an opponent of Stanford, so a Tech win helps Boise State.)
New Mexico hosts Air Force (Both are league opponents of course, but New Mexico has a tie-in to Texas Tech, an opponent of Nevada. This is the one advantage for New Mexico but it is minimal.)
