Blue Through and Through Top 25 College Football Teams, Week Eight

The goal in any ranking is of course to make sure you get it right.  The best and most accurate ranking is going to be one that changes very little.  In other words, the teams you have ranked continue to win week after week unless they are playing a higher-ranked team.

The only reputable ratings (because I pay attention...)

1-1.     Alabama 8-0 (win over Mississippi, owns wins over #6 Arkansas and #22 Penn State)

2-2.     LSU 8-0 (win over Tennessee, biggest win over #7 Oregon)

3-3.     Boise State 7-0 (win over Air Force, biggest win over #17 Georgia)
 
6-4.     Clemson 8-0 (win over North Carolina, biggest wins over #11 Virginia Tech and #19 Auburn)

8-5.     Oklahoma State 7-0 (win over Missouri, biggest wins over #18 Texas A&M and #24 Texas)

5-6.     Arkansas 6-1 (beat Mississippi, biggest wins over #18 Texas A&M and #19 Auburn, loss to #1 Alabama)

9-7.     Oregon 6-1 (beat Colorado, biggest win over #25 Arizona State, loss to #2 LSU)

7-8.     South Carolina 6-1 (idle, biggest win over #17 Georgia, loss to #19 Auburn)

4-9.     Oklahoma 6-1 (lost to #18 Texas Tech, biggest win debatable between Texas or Tulsa)

10-10.  Stanford 7-0 (win over Washington, biggest win over Washington)

12-11.  Virginia Tech 7-1 (win over Boston College, biggest win over Miami of Florida, loss to #4 Clemson)

19-12.  Michigan State 6-1 (beat #15 Wisconsin, biggest wins over #15 Wisconsin and #21 Michigan, lost to Notre Dame)15-14.  Kansas State 7-0 (beat Kansas, biggest win over #23 Baylor)

15-13.  Kansas State 7-0 (beat Kansas, biggest win over #23 Baylor)

13-14.  Houston 7-0 (beat Marshall, biggest win over UCLA)

11-15.  Wisconsin 6-1 (lost to #12 Michigan State, biggest win over #16 Nebraska)

14-16.  Nebraska 6-1 (beat Minnesota, biggest win debatable over Ohio State or Washington, lost to #15 Wisconsin.)

17-17.  Georgia 5-2 (idle, biggest win over Tennessee, losses to #3 Boise State and #8 South Carolina)

18-18.  Texas A&M 5-2 (beat Iowa State, biggest win over Baylor, losses to #5 Oklahoma State and #6 Arkansas)

---19.   Texas Tech 5-2 (beat #9 Oklahoma, losses to #13 Kansas State and #18 Texas A&M)

16-20.  Auburn 5-3 (lost to #2 LSU, biggest win over #8 South Carolina, losses to #2 LSU, #4 Clemson and #6 Arkansas)

20-21.  Michigan 6-1 (idle, biggest win over Notre Dame, lost to #12 Michigan State)

21-22.  Penn State 7-1 (win over Northwestern, biggest win over Iowa, lost to #1 Alabama)

24-23.  Baylor 4-2 (idle, biggest win over TCU, losses to #13 Kansas State and #18 Texas A&M)

---24.   Texas 4-2 (idle, biggest win over BYU, losses to #5 Oklahoma State and #9 Oklahoma)

---25.   Arizona State 5-2 (idle, biggest win over USC, losses to #7 Oregon and Illinois)


Dropped Out:  Georgia Tech, West Virginia and Notre Dame

Considered:  Syracuse, West Virginia, Wake Forest and Nevada
