BOISE STATE TO BIG EAST OFFER "IMMINENT"

It now appears that the events contained in my article early yesterday morning are going to happen sooner than expected.  The Big East is going to 12 members and they are doing it quick.  According to sources, Boise State could be invited to the Big east Conference as a football member very soon.

As part of that deal,  Boise State is insisting on additional western schools.  The school that all seem to be able to agree on is Houston.  This gives the Big East a presence in Texas, one of the top recruiting areas in the country.  Boise State has had that presence the last few years on their own, picking up numerous recruits such as George Iloka, Jay Ajayi, Dextrell Simmons, Rees Odhiambo, Quaylon Ewing-Burton and Aaron Burks.

If other schools leave the Big East as has been rumored, there is a possibility that more western schools such as SMU and Nevada could be added later.

But the big news is that it appears Boise State is headed for an automatic-qualifying conference for the first time in its history.

I do want to caution that things are changing rapidly and "nothing is until it is in writing".  There are other things happening behind the scenes that I can not reveal at this time.
