The Anti-Boise State Hypocrites

Sports fans all over the country have heard criticism from commentators about Boise State's football schedule.  Many fans themselves pile on the criticism.  This despite the fact that Boise State is locked into its conference and recently made an upward move into the respected Mountain West Conference.  Plus, most teams of stature refuse to play Boise State.

It's one thing to be ignorant.  Quite another to be a hypocrite.  But that is exactly what we are seeing displayed before us.  When Boise State's name was mentioned as a serious candidate for expansion by sources close to the Big 12 Conference, the Boise State haters hit the airwaves to protest.  So when Boise State has a chance to play a tougher schedule, there we find that the same people who are quick to (wrongly) criticize Boise State's schedule don't want them to have a tougher schedule!  It's hilarious.  The hypocrisy bleeds from their lips.  If you don't believe me, check out nearly any sports message board and you will see the people that criticize the Broncos for not playing a tough schedule arguing that they shouldn't be allowed to have a tougher schedule by joining the Big 12.  You can also hear talking heads dribble the same drivel.

This is why when Boise State is considered for a national championship, criticism of their schedule falls on deaf ears.  You can't on one hand criticize that schedule then deny them the opportunity to play a tougher one, then say they don't have the schedule to play for a national title.  My third grade niece understands that.  The respected media reporters, broadcasters and poll voters are figuring it out as well.  But it's funny nevertheless to watch the naysayers talk themselves into a circle.
