Since most college football teams are essentially done with non-conference games, here is how the conferences have performed after the first five weeks of the season. The number of teams in each conference with winning records are shown first followed by the more relevant percentage of winning teams for each conference.
SEC 9
Big 10 8
Big 12 7
ACC 7
Pac-12 7
Mountain West 6
MAC 6
Big East 5
Sun Belt 3
Conference USA 3
WAC 1
And to better compare, here are the percentages for number of teams with winning records divided by teams in the conferences (Since conferences with more members have a better chance of having teams with winning records.)
1. Big 10 (80.0%)
2. Mountain West (75.0%)
2. SEC (75.0)%
3. Big 12 (70.0%)
4. Big East (62.5%)
